A real 1893 Catalog of great doors, staircases, & Trim

This is apparently a reprint of one of the really great old catalogs of Victorian Millwork! It has fabulous designs for window ornamentation, verandas, brackets, gable ends, fireplace mantels and most especially doors. Black & White sketches show an impressive variety of ideas.

This is a good reference to the time period. This is not a "how to" book but rather a period catalog expertly reproduced. This book is good for someone who is interested in creating a home with elements from the late Victorian era.

I'm a nerd for antique millwork so I LOVE this book. It's from 1893, and predictably the products it depicts are heavy on Victorian frills. Craftsman is more my taste, so I'd love it if they'd release something similar from the 1910's. Still really awesome seeing the old molding profiles, sash construction, what sorts of glass was available, etc.

Mercy is a sleepy town in Massachusetts. According to the locals it was founded as a safe haven by the survivors of the Salem witch trials. Olivia West hadn’t set foot in Mercy since the night her Father murdered her mother and had no intention of ever returning despite being a direct descendant of one of the original founders, but when she unexpectedly inherits a house by the lake she finds she has no choice. The closer she gets to the town the more she can feel a strange pull, calling to her blood...someone or something wants her to come home.

When the bodies of missing residents are discovered in the woods near her house, it becomes clear there’s a killer on the loose who seems to have taken an unhealthy interest in Olivia. What is even more disturbing is that each victim is marked with some kind of supernatural brand. To make matters worse it appears that the murders are almost identical to a spate of killings twenty years earlier which mysteriously stopped after her father’s arrest.

Theodore Beckett is a young witch finder from seventeenth century Salem who has been hiding a huge secret from his strict puritan family. He has dreams, strange visions which have an alarming tendency to come true. But when he finds himself pulled abruptly through time by a mysterious stranger to be dropped in the middle of twenty first century Mercy, Theo realises the woman he has been sent there to help is the woman he has seen in his dreams all his life.

Olivia and Theo must find a way to trust each other when they are suddenly thrown together into a world of murder and magic. It becomes clear there is something dark stirring in the woods and the murders are only just the beginning.

It is all connected like a giant web spun from centuries of lies, murder and magic and it all keeps coming back to her family at the heart of it. Olivia can no longer ignore her past but must discover her family’s true legacy starting with what really happened the night her mother died.

Together Olivia and Theo must stop a murderer and uncover her family’s oldest and darkest secret, to prevent a demon from rising...and time is running out.

I loved this book

I loved this book! I enjoyed the historical knowledge and the story line. There was a few editing issues but the story kept you wanting to know what happens next. Ms. Sanders did a excellent job of keeping you guessing and the ending was not what you were expecting. I can't wait to read the next book in the series and to see what Olivia and Theo will be up against in the next book.

It has all the makings of a great read: mystery

I want to put a disclaimer right from the beginning: This book has a lot of graphic sex scenes in it. (I skipped over those)
I have been pondering how I would review this novel. It's not my normal genre that I read. That being said, this book was exciting, well written, descriptive without being too wordy, and overall a roller coaster ride!
It is a murder mystery of epic proportions. It has all the makings of a great read: mystery, romance, and magic.I expect this book to go far!

MERCY - FAIRLY DONE

MERCY is a fairly well done supernatural thriller, building to a tense climax that will surprise you. Most characters are well fleshed, a few a bit cardboard. My only nitpick is that the character from the past caught up way too quickly, even having sex with a woman he hardly knew.

This is not the whole book on CD!

Even though the animations and pictures in the CD are a great teaching tool the presentation at the Amazon website is completely misleading and makes it look like it might be the CD version of the whole book. Well, it is not; this is just the same CD you get when you buy the printed edition. If you want to actually read the text of the book do not get this product!

A well priced product and from its description ideal for lecture purposes.
Unfortunately it does not work using Windows Media Player, Nero Showtime or Open Source media player on my computer using Windows XP.
Amazon returns system worked well with full refund but I would have liked a version that worked.
