But this book was somewhat disappointing. The first part about Slades return to civilization was cool but the rest lacked. I read the whole novel but lost enthusiasm as it went on.

Jason Pipho, or Krisjian to his friends is the rarest of teachers. Unlike anyone out there he tells you to go inside and pay attention to you. 99.9% of the world seems fixated on the world outside, while Krisjian has gone the opposite way. He learned over many years how to remove his attention from the external world and place it on the internal world. In doing so he had an amazing transformation. What some would call enlightenment, he says is our birthright. He has nothing to fix you because you are not broken. Rather, he simply gets you to go inside and start turning on the lights. His book, “Unfixyou”, is a starting point for most to stop trying to find themselves outside of themselves. Sounds funny to say but that is what the entire world is doing. He simply points that out to his students and gets them to stay in the sensations of their bodies. His work and mission are profound! His students have amazing transformations as he literally teaches people how to turn off thinking. By doing so you bypass the filter, your brain, that has kept you in self bondage for eons. His energetic abilities are considered astounding by many but as he is quick to point out, “Everyone has these abilities. They simply forgot because they are thinking. Miracles are our birthright, not miracles.”

Path to Eden and my true self

This is my third time reading Jason Pipho's Unfixyou and I am realizing how deep and true Jason's messages are every time I read it.

As he put it, `How deep down the rabbit hole are you willing to go?'

To improve myself, increase my capacity in business and life, or find my true self, etc., I have studied from Mr. Robbins, Landmark, the Secret, Buddhism, ThetaHealing®, etc., etc., and Jason's writing is different from others. Although, initially it appeared to be similar to some others, it's in a different dimension/paradigm.

Many other programs deal with a level of thinking/belief/conviction and they teach different techniques to delete or change the so called `limiting' beliefs at a conscious or subconscious level to make things better. And, indeed, they did work for me to `improve' my thinking, hence results. I'm thankful to all of them. However, after reading this book, I know that they are dealing in the world of thinking - the world after Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge (= thinking).

This book shows the reader a way to go back to the world before the Tree of Knowledge, Eden. He explains how we have been `breaking' the perfection we already are, and how `fixing' ourselves actually break us even more.

Jason introduces simple exercises that individuals can do to be one's true self. He also writes specific instructions on meditation to quiet the mind/thinking.

After practicing those exercises, many things about me are changing and people are noticing the changes. In Jason's words, "All changes take place in the internal world and then the external world will change as if by magic." This book shows a way to meet the true, perfect self that, "was always there" and takes us back to Eden where we belong.

This book changed my life!

The 'Wise Woman' Book changed my life. I was in a troubled marriage, and after our fifth marriage counselor advised separation or divorce, I came upon this material in desperation, hungry to know there was more out there than pending doom. God used this material to open the floodgates of heaven and deliver me and my marriage, and now, four years later, my husband and I are thriving, in a joyful, loving relationship, have openness and intimacy, and have started a ministry to hurting men and women. This book was the catalyst that began our redemption into the awesome relationship we now have! Don't think about it - just buy it!

Radical!!

This book is not for the faint of heart; not for those who want the easy way out. It is for the broken hearted, broken in spirit, those who are at the bottom, in the dark and cold, alone and afraid and see no way out. There IS a way out, and Someone to hold your right hand, to help you thru the agonizing pain of separation and/or divorce. Written by a woman who has been there, it is a very gritty procedural digest of how to win your spouse back, even if they are actively pursuing divorce. Her advice, written in very plain form, very straightforward, is hard to swallow. It IS very radical in nature; but so is the death of a marriage. She speaks not the current trend in marital counseling we find in our churches today; but then, why are we even having to deal with these issues so much in our churches today? Think about it. I believe in her teachings, as I believe her foundation is the Rock of Ages, Jesus Christ. Pray and meditate as you read, and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. And as your journey begins (or continues), realize that you don't have to walk alone; that your only Source of Hope is waiting to lead you through the Valley. "The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and saveth such as be of a conrite spirit." (Psalm 34:18 KJV)

Informative, insightful, and will make you want to read the series again.

I came across this book in the fall of 2009 as a recommendation from a professor when a fellow student and I were researching for a Harry Potter course to be taught to college sophomores the following semester. The project fell through, however the reading was still informative and fun for me as a fan.

This book, a sequel to "Reading Harry Potter," provides several follow-ups to the essays presented in the first book. A few essays of particular note to me were "Potterverse and the Pulpits Beyond Apologia and Banning," "Happily Ever After: Harry Potter and the Quest for the Domestic," and "Doubling Transfiguring, and Haunting: The Art of Adapting Harry Potter for Film."

The first essay I listed explores how preachers are using Harry Potter to teach Christian lessons during church. One particular preacher noted that he asked those who had yet to finish "Deathly Hallows" to leave the room if they did not want to be spoiled about the ending. It was touching and pleasurable to read about a relationship between religion and Rowling's work that wasn't antagonistic.

"Happily Ever After" follows "Cinderfella" from the first book in which the authors look at gender issues and "masculine" and "feminine" choices. This time the writers focus on Nymphadora Tonks, Dolores Umbridge, and Bellatrix Lestrange. The piece is insightful, and the authors did well in choosing three side characters rather than focusing on characters like Hermione, Ginny, and Luna.

"Doubling, Transfiguring, and Haunting" focuses on the adaptation of "Prisoner of Azakaban" to film. This was my least favorite of the movies, and yet this essay made me like it a little more. The writer notes the nuances and subtleties in the film and how it relates to the readings.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this book to someone looking to delve a little deeper into Rowling's world. During my research, I came across collections of essays that were poorly written and even more poorly fact-checked (Hermione being a half-witch, James and Voldemort being the same age to name a few), but this was perfectly edited, and its essays a joy to read. While one may want to read "Reading Harry Potter" first, this book will stand on its own with its insightful commentary.
