London voyeurism at its best!

I just returned from a 10 day trip to London to attend my son's graduation exercises. I went on my own so I decided to take along a guide to what I wanted to know about, namely where did all those fabulous literary folk live, work, love, and scandalize? This guide was more than adequate to the task. Although I did mostly a Bloomsbury walk (there are two), and a Hampstead walk, I was well satisfied with the result. The guide is easy to carry, fairly lightweight, and well organized. It is very easy to spot medallion-adorned spots, but some just are not identified as they are just that esoteric. Such as the Senate House at University of London: the giant white edifice was the work-place of George Orwell and Dorothy L. Sayers, and the inspiration for Orwell's Ministry of Fear. No other guide book has given me such keen insight and well-paced walks (pubs included). The maps are beyond helpful and I never once got lost even when I was traversing Coram Fields from the home of H.D. to the Dickens Museum (closed until Christmas!). In Hampstead I dragged my son and daughter-in-law (since that is where they live) to the Keats House, the Hampstead Museum, and they dragged me (willingly) to their favorite pub The Holly. This book is a little hard to obtain, but well worth it and I know it is in my permanent collection and will become well-traveled.

good resource for London visitors-- but more would have been better

The idea of this book is terrific and I found it very useful but think it could have been better, really. 25 walks isn;t quite enough tho the Bloomsbury material is great and worth the price of admission right there.
