RS Grey returns with a sexy tale about two athletes who have every reason to stay away from one another but the desire becomes so overpowering that the consequences become worth the risk. SCORING WILDER will take you on a young soccer player's journey through the highs and low of being a high profiled athlete who just so happens to fall for the "bad boy" of soccer, which includes media gossip, unruly paparazzi and jealous teammates. The author brings a refreshing style of writing that is the perfect blend of humor, steam and a sweet love story. I could not get enough of Liam Wilder - I LOVED IT!!!

A secret love romance!

Kinsley doesn't have the best track record when it comes to boyfriends. After having two cheat on her she was more than a little gun shy. But, even she isn't immune to the infamous Liam Wilder, soccer star and apparently, her new assistant soccer coach for ULA. Dedicating herself to her soccer career has always been easy for Kinsley. She's a spit fire, hysterical and loyal to her friends to a fault.

Liam Wilder is the typical professional soccer player with a bad boy rep. Only, he's not so much the bad boy the press portrays him to be.

Kinsley meets Liam at one of his house parties only to find out the next day in practice that he is now her coach. The attraction between the two is instant but they try and push it in the background so it won't damage either of their careers. With Olympic tryouts on the horizon for Kinsley, she wants to stay focused but Liam Wilder seems to be a powerful force she can't shake or forget about no matter how hard she tries.

Between a snarky lime-light seeking captain on her soccer team, a head coach is has forbidden the two to be together, and the press snooping around every corner their romance seems almost impossible. The two fight off the attraction as long as possible but they find themselves asking the question if its worth it to fight it off or should they just give into the temptation?

RS Grey made me fall in love with her writing in With This Heart and Behind His Lens. Scoring Wilder is no different. This book has everything you could ask for. Humor, quick wit, a sexy soccer star with killer abs and so many swoon worthy moments that it makes you want to go find yourself a soccer player for your very own.

Congratulations to Miss Grey for another book I was able to fall in love with. If I could have given you six stars, I would have. Thank you, to Miss Grey, also, for trusting me with a complimentary copy to read early!

So I knew that R.S. Grey was a talented author. Her book, With This Heart, is by far one of my favorite books EVER! I knew that I'd like this one before I even read it. What I didn't know was how much I'd LOVE IT!

R.S. Grey has a way of writing that not only pulls you into the story but makes you want to stay there! I'm not kidding when I say I wanted to climb into my Kindle and live with the characters, I loved them that much.

Kinsley-oh my gosh. I loved her. Add her best friend, Becca and you get one hell of a duo. They are hilarious with one another!

Kinsley is on the ULA girls soccer team (along with Becca) who has caught two of her boyfriend cheating on her. She's had it when men. That is until she meets her new soccer coach, the uber hot and talented Liam Wilder.

Liam is a soccer star himself and a well known womanizing bad boy who is volunteering to help coach Kinsley's team.

Their attraction, although they try to fight it, is strong and even though they know it can end their careers, they can't stay away.

Will they get caught? What happens when you add a vindictive/jealous soccer team captain who has it in for Kinsley? Will there be a happily ever after or is Kinsley's bad luck with men streak still alive?

If you can't tell, this one gets 5 stars for me and I recommend it to EVERYONE! I know I will read ANYTHING by R.S. Grey, I don't even have to read the synopsis!

Sensual, profound, often funny and never sentimental, Stewart provides a definitive analysis of same-sex love in the context of a relationship that puts sex in its place and reveals love as the one agent of the human condition that can set us free.

The setting of the novel in an Oxford college (actually Christ Church, which the author attended) and the well-observed description of life in an English choir-school - short trousers, boats on the river, afternoon tea and cricket before Evensong - along with the stylistic quality of the writing, places 'Sandel' in a tradition made famous by Evelyn Waugh ('Decline and Fall' and 'Brideshead Revisited'). There are echoes too of 'Maurice', the novel by E M Forster published after his death in 1970.

On both sides of the Atlantic, 'Sandel' became formative reading for a generation of boys growing up in the 1970s who knew their feelings fell outside the heterosexual male stereotype, and it remains a gay cult novel today, with prices on Amazon reaching thousands of dollars a copy.

But its fundamental message holds good for all people in all eras whatever their sexual persuasion, and is delivered with great subtlety and skill by a master craftsman.

AUTHOR
Angus Stewart was born in 1936, the son of John Innes Mackintosh Stewart, the novelist and Oxford academic who wrote bestselling crime fiction as Michael Innes. He was educated at Bryanston School in Dorset, and later at Christ Church Oxford. Stewart's first published work was ‘The Stile’ (1965), which won the Richard Hillary Memorial Prize. His first novel, 'Sandel’, which is in many respects autobiographical, came in 1968 and is now a cult classic, recently commanding very high prices on the internet. Before and after its publication, Stewart lived for long periods in Morocco. In 2016 his personal memoir, ‘Tangier’ (1977), was reissued in a new edition, including photographs by the author. His experiences there explain a great deal about the author of 'Sandel’, and his exposure to Tangier’s legendary artistic community, which included Paul Bowles, Tennessee Williams, Francis Bacon, Alan Sillitoe, Ruth Fainlight, Rupert Croft-Cooke, Alec Waugh, William Burroughs, Gavin Maxwell, Francis Bacon, Joe Orton and others, prepared the way for his second novel, ‘Snow in Harvest’ (1969). ‘Sense and Inconsequence: Satirical Verses’ followed in 1972, with a Foreword by W H Auden. A third novel, ‘The Wind Cries All Ways’, which includes a startling description of the author’s incarceration in a Tangier mental asylum, has yet to be published.

After his mother's death in 1979 Stewart returned to live in England, and died in Oxfordshire twenty years later.

An emotional tour-de-force.

Angus Stewart's novel "Sandel" was first published in 1968. I found the paperback edition in 1971, in a standard Australian bookshop. Strangely enough, at that time, I was the same age (19) as David Rogers - one of the main characters; but it's the protaganist: Anthony Sandel, who's the real star-player in this extraordinary novel. Mr Stewart's ability to create such vivid images in the reader's mind is truly astonishing, and at the book's end, most readers will surely come to think of Anthony and David as almost real people.
When the book was originally published, a London newspaper made this comment: "Mr Stewart has really succeeded with this young character, and in depicting a love which truly exists and is not despicable." How true that statement is. However, Bruce Lang, one of the minor players in the story, is also an interesting character. Even though he's a legitimate friend of David Rogers, he finds it impossible to come to terms with the fact that David could love a 13-year-old choir boy.
Would this book be too controversial for the repressive '90s? I doubt it; it was a success in the late 1960s and early '70s. Surely it's time for a reissue, so that this magnificent novel can be enjoyed by a whole new audience.
Even though "Sandel" is very suitable for general audiences, it's a must-read for anyone who understands the underlying philosophy behind famous English public schools.

Choir-school classic

Of the comparitively few novels based in an English choir school, this is certainly one of the best. Head choirboy Antony Sandel's voice is at its peak; a possessive and highly emotional friendship develops between him and David Rogers, a university undergraduate. Their relationship flourishes as the voice develops; Rogers takes on work as a master in the school - which bears certain characteristics reminiscent of that in Evelyn Waugh's "Decline and Fall".
The book is a period piece with much authentic detail from the sixties in Oxford University, the College Chapel (called "The Temple" - a sort of amalgam of the cathedral and the other choral foundations in Oxford), and the Cotswolds. It's delightfully evocative of time and place, and of prep-school life - short trousers, boats on the river, afternoon tea and cricket before Evensong. With the book's Forster-like ambience, understated passion and Morse/Harry Potter-like setting, this book is more than ripe for being made into a film. I hope somebody will do so in due course

Now due to be re-issued, surely??

This book, which I first read in 1969, and found in an ordinary bookshop(!) must surely be due for a reprint, now that we live in more tolerant times.
It is a gentle, romantic, sensitive and realistic portrayal of first love and the dilemmas facing the teachers or pubescent boys, growing aware of their sexual power.
A wonderful read.

Great book.

I stumbled upon a couple of articles on Medium by this author so I decided to purchase this book because I like the Medium articles and I was not disappointed at all by the book. The book is a self-help book but it is somewhat funny.

The author talked about several personal stories and made them sound relatively funny.

What I liked the most was the first chapter, which was about going across the country. The way the author writes reminded me of the way Steinbeck wrote about California in East of Eden. This author should probably write a book or two about road trips across the country, it would probably be interesting.

I give 5 stars based on title alone. So many people perceive the term "badass" as a negative -- attributed to those who who make it a practice to disparage everything and act unkindly. When I read this book I hope to find out - and I think I will based on the blurb I read - that being a fearless badass means that you make the effort to step up and say something when things just aren't right....even in those situations where it's clearly not the hill you want to die on but you know that if your own sensibilities are highly offended.....how much more so others who aren't accustomed to or who are uncomfortable with - speaking up for themselves.

I think this author has "Chestered Up" without even realizing it...

He has a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from SUPELEC in France, and a Master's degree in Microengineering from EPFL in Switzerland. He has more than 5 years of experience working in the domain of electrical engineering. For many of you Arduino enthusiasts, the project you work on will need a way to connect your hardware to a network. As a practical matter, that network is likely to be your local network or the Internet. This text gives a means, using the Arduino Ethernet shield. The slender nature of the book hints at how straightforward this can be.

Given the hardware, the steps in the text's examples show how to upload data, including how to plot this in a rudimentary way on a terminal window. Back to basics indeed. For debugging, this makes the mininum needed. No fancy interactions with a web server. At least initially. But the text then goes onwards, to explain to to hook up to a web server. Chapter 3 actually makes the web on the Arduino motherboard. Impressive use of the memory and CPU now commonly available in Arduino !

Another key variant is later in the book, when it shows how to use a web server on the Internet to remotely control your device. The advantages and uses are manifold. Albeit with the requirement that the device needs to be accessible from the Internet.

Connect your Arduino to the world!

As much fun as it is connecting sensors to an Arduino, and displaying data on a LCD, lighting LED's, or other local actions, the real power is when you connect to a network. Whether it's a local network and you are communicating between them or collecting data in a central database (Raspberry Pi), or connecting to the internet and contributing local weather data to a server, or broadcasting data with email or Twitter, even pulling down information like emails, tweets, or scraping other websites for data for local display, there's a lot of fun to be had.
One book that explains how this all works, and gives you easy to replicate (and understand) projects is "Arduino Networking" by Marco Schwartz. This book delves into the abilities of network connectivity, explaining how and why it works, and leaves your mind swirling with new applications, and the ability to execute them. It's a must have on any maker's shelf!

This book is explained in a very clear and step-wise way which makes it extremely easy for anyone to follow from the Arduino Hobbyist beginner to the most experienced. Mr.Schwartz has proven to be over and over again with the release of other books on this subject matter to be trustworthy.
